Terms of Service

1. The service

Name QR provides a free, browser-based tool that encodes content you supply into static QR codes and lets you download them as PNG or SVG files. The service is provided as-is, without an account, and may change or be withdrawn at any time.

2. Your codes are yours

You retain all rights to the content you encode and to the QR code images you download. You may use them for personal and commercial purposes — on products, packaging, signage, advertising and printed material — with no licence fee, attribution requirement or watermark.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Name QR to create codes that:

• link to malware, phishing pages or fraudulent payment requests;
• distribute unlawful, harassing, defamatory or infringing material;
• impersonate another person, business or public authority;
• attempt to interfere with, overload or reverse-engineer this website.

You are solely responsible for the destination and content of every code you create, and for having the right to use any data you encode (for example, another person's contact details or a network password).

4. No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee that every generated code will scan correctly on every device, in every lighting condition or at every print size. Always test a code before printing at volume.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Name QR is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, wasted print runs, lost data or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to USD 50.

6. Third-party components

QR encoding uses open-source software, which remains subject to its own licence. Nothing in these terms transfers rights in that software to you beyond that licence.

7. Future paid features

We may introduce optional accounts, dynamic QR codes, scan analytics and paid plans. Those features will carry their own additional terms presented before purchase. They will not retroactively affect codes you have already generated and downloaded.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here removes consumer rights that cannot be waived under the law of your country of residence.
