Cookie Policy

Last updated: 2 September 2026. Name QR runs on a very small amount of browser storage, and nothing optional loads before you say yes.

1. What cookies are

Cookies and similar technologies (localStorage, sessionStorage) are small pieces of data a site stores in your browser. They can be strictly necessary to make a site function, or optional — used for measurement, personalisation or advertising.

2. What we use

Strictly necessary

  • nameqr-cookie-consent — a localStorage entry recording whether you accepted or rejected analytics, so we stop asking. No expiry; it stays until you clear site data.

These are required for the site to respect your choice and are set without consent, as permitted under the ePrivacy rules.

Analytics — only after you accept

  • Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*) — aggregate page-view and feature-usage measurement, with IP anonymisation enabled. Typical lifetime up to 24 months. The script is not downloaded at all unless you press "Accept" in the banner.

What we do not use

  • No advertising or retargeting cookies.
  • No social media tracking pixels.
  • No cross-site profiling or data brokerage.
  • No cookies of any kind are needed to generate or download a QR code.

3. Changing your mind

You can withdraw or change consent at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings (Privacy → Cookies and site data → remove nameqr.com). The consent banner will reappear on your next visit so you can choose again. You can also block cookies entirely in your browser; the QR generator will keep working normally.

4. Third-party cookies

Where analytics are enabled, the provider sets its own cookies under its own privacy terms. We configure the tool to minimise data collection, but we do not control the provider's processing.
